Setting up your team in Cradle
Invite new users, assign licences, and configure ring groups for your team.
1. Invite your team
Open the admin portal and head to People. Click New Person + for each new teammate.
- Enter their name and email.
- Plan: choose from essentials, standard, professional, enterprise, practice, practice plus, or group. Your account manager can advise which plan suits.
- User type: choose Full (most users, with desktop, mobile, browser calling and messaging), SIP only (for users on a SIP desk phone), Admin only (admin-portal access without calling), or Mobile only.
- Admin access: toggle
isAdminon if this person should be able to manage the phone system in the admin portal. - Optionally assign a direct-dial phone number.
A user's status defaults to Activated. You can Disable a user later from their profile if they leave the organisation.
2. Create ring groups
Ring groups let multiple people answer the same incoming call. Open Groups from the left-hand menu, create a group, choose a Group Colour (this is required, and the colour is used to identify the group in reports and the call log), and add team members.
Most accounting firms route their main number to a 'Reception' ring group during business hours, then to voicemail after-hours.
3. Set business hours
Business hours control when calls ring through to your team and when they go to voicemail. Set them per timezone if your team spans regions.
Tip
If you're porting an existing number, finish team setup first. That way new numbers route correctly the moment porting completes.
