Desktop app call log

Read the call log on the Cradle desktop app: what each icon and colour means.

The call log is the centre of day-to-day life in the Cradle desktop app. There's quite a lot packed into each row, so here's how to read it.

The basics

  • Each row is a single conversation, whether you took it or missed it.
  • All contact icons are indigo. The icon shape tells you the type of contact:
    • Person is one of your contacts.
    • Building is one of your companies or clients.
    • Teammate is someone on your team.
    • Anonymous is an unknown phone number that didn't match a contact.
  • Click the purple phone icon on the right to call the number back.
  • The contact name shows on the left; the region shows on the right (Cradle resolves region for numbers across all supported countries, not just New Zealand and Australia).
  • Click anywhere on the row except the phone icon to expand it.

The expanded view

Expanded rows show:

  • Why did I get this call? (inbound only): which Rule or Group brought the call to you.
  • Contact details: more information if you're integrated with Xero, XPM, FYI, or HubSpot.
  • Recording: play, download, or share if recording was on.
  • Notes and integration links: jump straight to the matched record in your CRM.

If a call was missed by you and everyone else on your team, the entire top line of the row is red.

Not every section appears on every call. Internal calls between teammates, for example, won't show CRM-matched contact details.

Call status icons

Each row has a small icon to the right of the contact name showing what happened on that call.

  • Currently in progress (on another device): name in grey, green ellipsis icon. You're talking to this number right now on a different device.
  • Answered by you: name in grey, blue arrow icon.
  • Transferred by you: name in grey, orange arrow icon. You handed the call off to someone else.
  • Answered by a teammate after coming to you first: name in grey, grey arrow icon. Cradle tried you, didn't get an answer, and someone else picked up.
  • Missed by the whole team: name in red, red arrow icon. Nobody picked up. This is the row to call back.
  • Declined: name in grey, blue arrow with a red line through it. You actively rejected the call.

Filtering and searching

Use the search bar at the top of the call log to filter by name, number, or status. Use the date picker to narrow to a specific range.
